Vintage Vogue
As I've been sitting here at my computer waiting for the Sept. issue of Vogue to arrive, I've been pondering their choice of cover models. The likes of Sienna Miller, Keira Knightley and Gwyneth Paltrow, to name a few, don't inspire or excite me. These women have stylists who choose the clothes they wear not just for magazine covers and premiers but for coffee runs and shopping excursions. Where's the fun in that? What inspiration can readers get from movie stars who have to be taught how to say Givenchy and don't know the difference between sheath and chiffon?
That's why I'm always looking back at old Vogue covers and images where models, socialites and even actors lived for fashion and took care to educate themselves on designers and clothes.
