A work in progress

Two weeks ago I moved to Toronto and am living on my own in my first condo. It's been a lot of fun; meeting new people, hanging out with old friends and staying up past the last GO train back to the suburbs.

I've also been having a great time decorating my place. I'm trying to make my home more personal by adding family photographs to walls and on tables. But I am also letting the fashion obsession come out in the decoration; stacks of fashion magazines against the walls and under the coffee table; fashion drawings on the walls, random bags strewn about and coffee table books lying around.

Like I said in the post title, it's a work in progress but I'm excited at my start. My current project is getting a bunch of Vogue covers and my favourite fashion photographs and putting them on my wall like a collage.

What do you guys do in your home that shows your fashion side?

Jealous of Jessica Stam's apartment

As if there already wasn't enough about Jessica Stam to be jealous of. She's only 22 has an apartment the Astors would comfortably call home.

I'm 24 and I still live with my mother and sister. My room has posters of Johnny Depp, Tintin, croissants and cats on the wall; stuffed animals on my bed; clothes on the floor and piles of dishes sit on my desk.

Jessica has a Moroccan doorway, an antique chaise, potted flowers, fancy pillows and expensive looking bedsheets. How fair is that?

Granted, she is the 15th highest-paid model in the world and I am probably the millionth-lowest-paid journalist in the world. So the difference in earnings is...a lot. But this girl has class.

I am secretly hoping that the empty beer bottles and dirty clothes are stuffed in the closet, ready to burst out when the photographer leaves the premises.

Look at the photos and weep.
