Stars are glaring in Toronto International Film Festival

Well it is really busy in September, the Venice International Film Festival hasn't been closed, and the New York Fashion Week has just opened, at the same time Toronto International Film Festival is just kicking off. And there are so many wonderful events, and so many celebrities appear on the catwalk. We can pay attention to their different fashion styles.
Ten Year, which had its premiere screening at Ryerson last night, boasts an impressive list of stars, including Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Justin Long, Oscar Isaac and Rosario Dawson. It follows a group of high school friends who meet again at their 10 year reunion. At the pre-show dinner, Channing showed chivalry is not dead, according to a report in The Globe and Mail. Because his wife/co star Jenna's pink cocktail dress was too tight to navigate the stairs into the restaurant, he carried her up two flights to the private event at Soho House. This is the second time they've co starred in a film, they first met in 2005 during the filming of the dance movie.
Madonna wore a Tom Ford dress on the red carpet to promote her second movie as a director W.E. about a woman (played by Abbie Cornish) who obsesses about divorcée Wallis Simpson, for whom King Edward gave up his throne. Introduced "one of the most famous people in the world" on the red. When asked what sacrifices she's made, Madonna answered:"You make a lot of sacrifices and compromises. For instance, I didn't get to see my kids very much. So that was a big compromise because I love my movie. So you always have to give up something for something you love, right?"
Gerard Butler was looking trim, healthy and more handsome than ever at the Machine Gun Preacher premiere at Roy Thomson Hall. He clowned with the crowd for photographs and signed hundreds of autographs before going in to watch the world premiere of his new film. Also on hand were his co stars Michelle Monaghan, Madeline Carroll and Michael Shannon, as well as Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro, who co starred with Gerard in the 2007 movie 300.
Fan favorite Viggo Mortensen made sure to greet the fans who'd been waiting for hours to see him when he arrived at Roy Thomson Hall for the gala screening of his latest film, A Dangerous Method, which also stars Keira Knightley. Earlier in the day, the co stars posed with a Montreal Canadiens hockey sweater to tease their Toronto born director, David Cronenberg. Keira says she had no idea what the significance of the sweater meant, but when Viggo "told me it would wind David up, we decided it would be a good idea," she admitted. He also posed for Tribute's cameras holding a Montreal Canadiens flag. It looks like these two had a great time at TIFF!
Fans who'd lined up for hours to catch a glimpse of Brad Pitt at the premiere of Moneyball were not disappointed. He showed up on the red carpet with his partner, Angelina Jolie, at Roy Thomson Hall and immediately walked up to the fans to sign autographs and pose for photographs. Jolie, elegantly dressed in a black gown, also talked to fans and signed autographs.

New York Fashion Week: stars in the spring/summer 2012 front rows

Paris has creativity, London has talent and Milan offers luxury, but what is New York's niche? Perceived as the poor relation, the city needed to raise its game. So did the shows deliver? Let's fall in love with the latest collection of the upcoming season, the celebrities wear in the front rows.
A smattering of actresses, singers and even models all want a piece of the front row action this season. Proving that she's very much the Marc by Marc Jacobs muse, teen actress Elle Fanning was seated front row at the designer's show. Look out for her in the Marc by Marc autumn/winter 2011 ad campaign.
A newly pregnant Beyoncé popped to see the J.Crew presentation with her stylish sister Solange. Perhaps the singing sensation was eyeing up some colourful maternity dress solutions...
When you think of designer Carolina Herrera, you think of an Upper Avenue princess, not a fluorescent clad Nicki Minaj. Top marks go to the hip hop chart topper for eschewing the norm of wearing a designer's garb when rocking up to their show.
Hollywood actress Renée Zellweger (left), a firm fan of Carolina Herrera's designs made a beeline for the designer (right) backstage, looking every inch the muse.
Fashion photographer Terry Richardson clutches an invite as she makes his way to a runway show.
Actress Lindsay Lohan kept her sunglasses on to take in designer Cynthia Rowley's collection.
Fashion fan Courtney Love cut a demure figure complete with leather gloves at Alexander Wang.
Glee star Lea Michele was the epitome of ladylike glamour as she arrived for Jason Wu's show.

LOVE magazine editor and stylist Katie Grand was spotted sporting a new season spotty top by Marc Jacobs.
British singer Corinne Bailey Rae soaked up the atmosphere at the Edun show...

...which also drew supermodels Christy Turlington and Naomi Campbell...

...as well as Sting (far left) and wife Trudie Styler, and Bono and his wife, Edun designer Alison Hewson.
X Men actress Zoe Kravtiz works her own brand of dressed down cool to attend the shows.

Singer Alicia Keys and husband Swizz Beatz adopted an all black dress code to mingle with the fashion pack.
The City star Whitney Port nails yet another chic ensemble to take in designer Rebecca Taylor's new looks.
A girlie looking Kelly Osbourne bolstered the trend for leather gloves at the Charlotte Ronson show.
British model Poppy Delevingne works an uncomplicated shift dress at Diane Von Furstenberg spring/summer 2012 show.
Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe took her devoted husband Rodger Berman along with her to at Diane Von Furstenberg.
Actresses Jaime King and Emma Roberts looked like they had fun at Jill Stuart's show.
Blogger Leandra Madine, of the Man Repeller works her show style to perfection.

Singer turned actress, Mandy Moore, wore a beaded Jenny Packham jacket to attend the British designer's catwalk show.
Mother of one, Linda Evangelista, looked every inch the flawless supermodel on the front row at Alexander Wang's show.
Hip hop sensation Nicki Minaj was unmissable at Prabal Gurung's show, funking up the front row in her signature colourful style. However we're not sure the poor person seated behind her would have enjoyed her zealous bow as much as we do.
Former Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld whipped photographers into a frenzy as she made stylish steps across NYC.

Front row fixture and style maven Alexa Chung made her first appearance at the Cynthia Rowley show earlier in the week. Decked in a navy key hole dress and Miu Miu booties, we look forward to what other looks the British model/ TV presenter has up her Fashion Week sleeves.

British theater troupe Punchdrunk presents a contemporary, voyeuristic and nearly wordless interpretation of Macbeth. For the interactive performance, directed by Felix Barrett and Maxine Doyle, the audience is required to wear masks as they silently wander the elaborate rooms, following whichever performers they choose, even interacting with props by, for example, rifling through a suitcase left behind by one of the characters. The cast is outstanding, but the venue takes the lead in establishing this production's eerie ambiance: when the McKittrick Hotel's construction was completed in 1939, it was set to be Manhattan's most lavish hotel. But days after it opened, World War II broke out and it was condemned and closed until now. One last note, if you're planning to attend this racy, violent show, leave the kids at home.

The Stars Love to Wear McQueen

British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman said: 'He was the most brilliant designer of his generation and his influence can be seen in the way that women dressed over the last 15 years. Former CEO at Alexander McQueen, Sue Whiteley, said:"He was an unforgettable part of my life. He was a talent who was beyond others. " People who worked with him would give 100 per cent and more because he was totally inspiring. He was able to bring creativity to whatever he turns his hand to, from perfume bottles to every piece of clothing. He was a British icon in fashion.

He is fashion hooligan Mcqueen, McQueen combined masterful tailoring and a haute couture sensibility with an imagination that spanned from obscure to sublime. His designs, which he once described as 'armour', were adored by countless celebrities from Joan Collins to Lady GaGa.

Integral to the McQueen culture was the fusion of contrasting elements: fragility and strength, tradition and modernity, fluidity and severity. His inspirations varied from the dark to the bizarre, among them Sydney Pollack's film "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?", Hitchcock heroines, Lord Of The Flies and even a chess game. The designer called his shows: "My own living nightmares", and admitted: "Nicey nicey just doesn't do it for me."

Of his label, McQueen told W Magazine in 2008: "I'm talking about building a luxury brand from scratch, and there wasn't any [precedent] maybe Marc [Jacobs], but he's a bit older than us."These new designers, the new generation of luxury brands [could become] like the new Chanel and the new Balenciaga and the new Dior. I see it like that, and now I can see there's light at the end of the tunnel."

The fashion world had been waiting with baited breath to see his latest offering at Paris Fashion Week next month. Now we may never know what fantastic creations he had in store, instead, the industry look set to pay sad tribute to it's brightest star.

Now let's enjoy some of McQueen's masterpieces, which are also many celebrities' favourites. Because celebrities love to wear McQueen.

Anglomania: Alexander McQueen poses with Sarah Jessica Parker at the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 2006, left, and Victoria Beckham sports a similar skirt in 2006

Politicians' Denim Fashion Show

We all know that denim clothing is popular among common people. But can you imagine that here is a politicians' denim fashion show. Many politicians around the world wear denim clothing to attend all kinds of activities. Now let's have a look at this denim fashion show.
When Dmitry Medvedev dined with the Obamas in July, the Russian president appeared both relaxed and powerful. He hit that elusive note by pairing his fine blazer, crisp buttoned shirt, and expensive-looking leather-soled shoes with dark, straight jeans.

Power jeans are increasingly common in high-ranking business and political circles. Indeed, jeans are now a legitimate part of the global power-dress lexicon, worn to influential confabs where the wearers want to signal they're serious -- but not fussy -- and innovative.

The look started with the young but has crossed into gray-haired circles. In preparation for a meeting with the U.S. president of Swiss watchmaker IWC, Larry Seiden, a 56-year-old fine-watch collector from San Jose, Calif., bought a pair of black Agave jeans from a high-end boutique. 'They tailored them for me and I have to tell you, I really love them,' he says. 'Now I'm thinking of getting another pair in blue denim.'

Jeans are recruiting new fans among even dressy executives. 'I'm not really a jeans guy,' said Gilles Mendel, chief executive and designer of J. Mendel furs and evening wear, not long ago, sitting in his New York office. Still, he went with a snug set of dark blue Acme jeans under a black Dior blazer.

Chosen well, jeans can suggest the wearer is confident and modern. Traditionally cut blue jeans carry a whiff of the laborer about them, so denim on a leader suggests a willingness to roll up the sleeves and dig in. There's also something of the rebel in a pair of jeans. In the boardroom, that can read as creative.

But jeans must be carefully paired with a pressed shirt and good shoes to be elevated to business class. And some industries haven't (yet) become open to denim as power wear. Banks and accounting-firm boardrooms, for instance, remain decidedly woolen. New York-based career adviser Jonscott Turco says jeans are generally a 'no-brainer' in the media, manufacturing and creative industries, but not in financial services and law firms.

Power jeans may best be left to the executives in mixed-rank groups. Being a junior person wearing jeans in a room full of pinstripes could spell 'youthful blunder.' Perhaps the best rule is that of the high-priced boutique: If you have to ask, you can't afford to wear them.
It's also possible to go awry with the wrong jeans in the right place. Barack Obama, whose wife and children have been heralded as fashion icons, was ridiculed for wearing dorky 'dad jeans' (baggy and high-rise) to pitch at an All-Star game. When Tony Blair wore jeans to meet George Bush two years ago, the British prime minister was criticized for his pants' snug fit.Few items of clothing speak as loudly, to the positive or negative, as a pair of jeans. As with tuxedos and Hawaiian shirts, wear them right (on the latter, only to a luau if you're a mainlander), or not at all.

To wit, fit is as essential for jeans as for tailored slacks. Eric Jennings, Saks Fifth Avenue men's fashion director, suggests that men keep their executive jeans 'dark and straight.' And never dress as if the jeans had been switched out from formal suit pants at the last minute: No fancy French-cuffed shirts with jeans, he advises.

From their 19th-century origins until the 1950s, jeans were mainly work wear. Levi's historian Lynn Downey says denim was demonized in the '50s with wearers like James Dean and Marlon Brando. Nothing could have been better for sales. 'Denim was code for rebellion,' she says. 'So every young boy wanted to wear it.'

Now you may know that if you want to make a denim fashion show, it is not an easy job. A good denim fashion show contains a lot of knowledge. Now you have known some of it, you can start to have a try. Maybe next shining star is you.
