Waldfest Tegernseer Gebirgsschützen
Dear readers,
if you're not from Germany, the first thing that comes into your mind thinking about Germany surely is Lederhosen. You'll find them in Bavaria, my second destination this summer.
In the lovely village of Tegernsee (located at lake Tegernsee) it's no big deal to see people wearing traditional costume, called Tracht, because Bavarians commonly emphasize pride in their traditions. I also got a Tracht, but that's a different story.
The complete Tracht is worn on special occasions, like the Waldfest of Tegernseer Gebirgsschützen.
Here are a few impressions.
Cheers
Mike

Tegernsee's traditional hatter: Gottfried Schätz
As maybe the last hatter of Tegernsee Gottfried Schätz with his 125 years of familiy tradition provides a large variety of different hats in Tegernsee town. Starting from traditional handcrafted bavarian hats to common brands like Mayser, Seeberger, Stetson, Habsburg, etc. of all colors and sizes.
Ties and traditional hat accessories will help you to look like a Tegernsee native.

Relaxing at the end of the day.
There's no better way then to end your day with a nice view and the best beer in the world: Tegernsee Hell.
Vacation impressions: Between Tracht and fashion
Tracht (traditional national costume), Lederhosen and beer. Bavaria is cliché, that's for sure. But I pretty much like it.
You can feel the importance of tradition and nature's materials when you spend your holidays especially in Upper Bavaria's jewel Tegernsee Valley.
Care for some Lederhosen? No problem! You can buy them everywhere!
